Read and reviewed minutes
from previous Executive Board meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
LMOU Training
On Friday, August 17th
the Local will be conducting LMOU negotiations training.
Branch President Gene Rezac attended the National Training
in D.C. and will conduct the training here.
Purchase of New Equipment &
Office Items
As previously decided,
the Treasurer’s computer has been replaced. Computers were
purchased for the Seattle P&DC and Anchorage. A Computer
Notebook was purchased for Everett. It was also decided
that more practical and ergonomic desk would be purchased
for President McClear’s office. At this time the Local is
still looking for a desk that meets those requirements.
Finding a more
efficient Internet provider has been a challenge. The Local
has chosen and is changing our Internet service to Clearwire.
President McClear’s new e-mail address is
pat316@local316.clearwire.net. The older
e-mail address, npmhu316@inetmail.att.net,
is still functional, but will be phased out eventually.
This may also eventually impact our website and such.
Flower Policy
Flowers were purchased
and sent to the funeral of former Local 303 President
Chester Albritton, who recently passed away.
Our Flower Policy has been changed to include
siblings. The Policy now reads as such:
The Local 316 Policy
regarding flowers for members will be as follows:
Flowers will be
purchased for members and their immediate family for the
following reasons a serious illness involving an inpatient
hospital visit and funeral.
Immediate family
includes spouse, domestic partner, children, member’s
parents and siblings.
Additionally, if you
know of a member who needs flowers sent under this policy,
please notify the Local with their name (or family member’s
name) the address and
phone number of where they are to be sent.
Health Plan
Due to the overall
loss of participant is the MHBP this year; the Executive
Board has made plans for a greater presence of trained
Representatives at Health Fairs throughout open season.
Please notify the Local of Health Fair dates ASAP.
NEW BUSINESS
Union Officials'
Travels
President McClear has
visited Anchorage Alaska in June and visited the Pasco and
Yakima branches for facility visits and branch meetings.
Mail Handler/Postal
Teams
Anyone wishing to put
together a team for a charity event such as walks for MS or
Diabetes should notify the Local for assistance.
Treasurer’s Report
Irene reviewed the
Treasurer’s Report. Overall we are still under budget for
2007. Some areas like our Health Benefit Plan are not
brining in the budgeted amount, whereas we are receiving
more than planned in member dues. The Local’s careful
planning should bring us in under budget at the close of
2007. Vice President Don Sneesby, Recording Secretary
Monica Taylor and Washington State Executive Board Member
Leonard Ebio reviewed the vouchers. After the voucher
review Don made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report.
Leo seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.
The
Meeting adjourned at 2:20 PM
